Business Leader is a highly-vetted membership community for CEOs and founders of mid-sized UK companies. As part of their awards portfolio, the company hosts its annual Scale-Up Awards, recognising high-growth businesses that are rapidly scaling.

THE CHALLENGE

Elevating the Business Leader Scale-Up Awards as the must-enter and must-attend awards in the business world was a key goal for Business Leader and restructuring the judging, building new data and creating a comprehensive marketing plan were critical to achieving this.

The Chalk and Chilli team were tasked with:

Identifying, inviting and securing a diverse panel of 25 high-profile judges
Researching and generating new leads for 2024 paid award entries

THE SOLUTION

Judging panel:

We identified a mix of influential entrepreneurs, government advisors, creatives and investors who would elevate the profile of the Awards. With this elite group in mind, we initiated contact to invite and convince them to join the esteemed 2024 Judging panel.

Lead generation:

We conducted thorough market research, including competitor analysis to identify high growth SME’s who would benefit from exposure. We built a robust list of highly targeted contacts and launched a personalised marketing campaign across email,

social media, and phone. Reaching out directly to these key individuals, wepersuasively encouraged their participation in the awards, within a short timeframe.

THE RESULTS

We successfully assembled an influential and diverse mix of 26 CEO’s and Founders from organisations including Wonderhood Studios, The Dots, Screenhits TV, Magic AI and Passenger
We researched over 1,000 new senior contacts, engaging them not just for the Scale-Up Awards but also to forge long-term business value.
This effort led to 16 direct registrations as a result of our awards entry marketing.
